The Firm
Betancourt Kotenai is a Tri-Cities firm built around criminal defense and family law. We keep the caseload deliberately manageable so that the attorney who takes your call is the attorney who stands up in court.
Our clients come to us at the worst point of a bad stretch. What we owe them is competence, candor, and the willingness to fight when fighting is the right call. That is the whole model.
Our Attorneys
Raised in Yakima. Joined the United States Air Force in 2005 as a Tactical Air Control Party specialist, deployed to Iraq in 2007, and completed Army Airborne School and USAF Survival School. Earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice, then his law degree from the University of Idaho.
Practice: criminal defense, family law, and civil protection orders. Board member, Columbia Basin Veterans Center and Career Path Services; Trustee, Benton-Franklin Counties Bar Association.
Read Full Bio →Raised in Houston, Texas. B.B.A. in Supply Chain Management from the University of Houston and J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he competed in mock trial and received the CALI Award for excellence in legal research and writing.
Negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts at three Fortune 50 oil and gas companies; summer associate at Foley & Lardner; assisted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in prosecuting domestic violence and child sex abuse cases. Practiced family law in the Tri-Cities and managed a branch office in Spokane.
