A criminal charge is the government telling you it intends to take your freedom. It has the police, the prosecutor’s office, the crime lab, and the credibility that comes with a badge. You have the burden of being the accused — and by the time you walk into a courtroom, it can feel as though nobody believes a word you say.
Your attorney does. That is the job. We start from your side of the story and we make the State prove every element beyond a reasonable doubt — not assume it. We read the reports the way a jury will hear them. We look at how the stop happened, how the statements were taken, and whether the search was lawful. Where there is a suppression issue, we file. Where the State’s case is thin, we say so early and loudly.
